Neighborhood favorite, Fentons Creamery & Restaurant, has been doing business on Piedmont Avenue for more than 50 years, offering its famous ice cream, burgers, and other savory treats. In town, Mulberry's Market offers an array of over-the-counter, and ready-made items to take away, as well as a full coffee bar and pastries. The town maintains several well-used parks and playing fields for both sports and recreation, and the streets are lined with mature shade trees and blooming gardens. At the heart of Piedmont, lies the police and fire departments, Heavens Elementary, the middle and high schools, the new Aquatics Centers, public tennis courts, and the much beloved Arts Center.

Throughout the year, Exedra Park hosts concerts, movie nights, The Food Fest, The Harvest Festival, The Tree-Lighting Ceremony, Fourth of July Festivities, and many other family-friendly events. Within a well-defined border, Piedmont provides a warm and welcoming neighborhood within the greater Oakland and Bay Areas.
